Based on feedback from the campus community, NDHR is pleased to announce changes to the employee tuition remission program for faculty, staff, spouses and retirees enrolling in Notre Dame courses, making this benefit more flexible to better meet individual needs.

Effective immediately with the summer 2024 semester, the tuition remission benefit will cover nine credits per academic year. Previously, the benefit allowed for tuition reimbursement of three credits per semester (summer, fall and spring). The academic year will begin with the summer semester and extend through the fall and spring semesters. This adjustment provides individuals with more flexibility in the courses they take, including the opportunity for full tuition coverage of a four-credit class.

Individuals now have the flexibility to leverage the full potential of the remission benefit throughout the year, whether by taking multiple classes per semester or spreading them out throughout the academic year. Notably, we are still committed to providing 100 percent tuition remission for both graduate and undergraduate courses, with no changes to the associated taxability rules.

Learn more about these changes by visiting Notre Dame Tuition Remission. Additionally, you can learn more about online summer courses available to you through Take Home the Dome for The Summer.
