Full-Time Student Verification
If children are full-time college students (at least 12 credit hours) and unmarried, they remain eligible on your coverage until age 25. Coverage ends at the end of the calendar month in which they lose eligibility.
If you updated your dependents full time student status information during the 2008 annual benefits open enrollment period or during your 2008 new hire election period, your eligible dependent will have coverage throughout the year. You will not have to provide a class schedule or paid tuition bill to Meritain Health.
If you did not update your dependents full time student status, call the askHR Call Center at 574-631-5900 to update.
Immunization Coverage
Beginning July 1, 2007 all three Notre Dame medical plans (Meritain PPO, Meritain Select HMO, & Meritain CHA HMO) will cover immunizations as recommended by the Department of Health & Human Services – Centers for Disease Control & Prevention. Notre Dame medical plans will continue to cover immunizations mandated by the state through June 30, 2007.
Changes to the schedule include coverage for the meningococcal vaccine and the human papillomavirus vaccine (hpv).

Flexible Spending Accounts - IRS 2-1/2 month grace period for 2007 Health Care Spending Accounts
Current participants will have a 2-1/2 grace period until March 15th 2008 to incur claims for balances remaining in your 2007 health care spending account. To be eligible for reimbursement, these expenses will need to be submitted to Meritain by March 31, 2008. Meritain processes claims and reimbursement checks weekly. Claim forms and supporting documentation received by the close of business on Tuesday will be processed and paid the following week via check or direct deposit. Claim forms and associated documentation can be submitted to Meritain via fax at 1-716-319-5575 or mail at P.O. Box 926 , Amherst , New York 14226-0926.
