Adoption Benefit

Provides reimbursement for adoption expenses to full-time faculty, staff after one year of service.

Incidental Days

Incidental days provide income protection for non-exempt staff absent from work due to their own illness or injury or that of a qualifying family member.

Short-Term Income Replacement

STIR provides income protection when you fall ill or are unable to work for a temporary period of time.

Long-Term Disability

Long-Term Disability provides a monthly benefit if an eligible employee becomes disabled and is unable to perform the essential functions of their job beyond 6 months.

403(b) Retirement Plan

University of Notre Dame retirement plan. All employees have the opportunity to make voluntary contributions. After a year of service, employees make a defined regular salary contribution of 5% and the University contributes 10%. 

Pension Plan

Closed to new entrants effective December 31, 2017. Active non-exempt participants prior to 12/31/2017 continue to earn credited service.

Your Pension Resource

YPR is an online tool for active pension plan participants that helps them estimate their pension benefit for a future date.

Notre Dame Tuition Remission

Tuition remission is available to eligible faculty, staff and spouses for undergraduate or graduate courses at Notre Dame.

Non-Notre Dame Tuition Reimbursement

Tuition reimbursement is available to eligible staff for undergraduate or graduate courses or for skills-related training or certifications.

Fred Freeman Scholarship

The Fred E. Freeman Staff Scholarship provides tuition reimbursement for post-secondary education, certification, or a college degree to eligible non-exempt staff.

Educational Benefit for Children

Tuition benefit for children of eligible full-time faculty and staff. Benefit can go towards tuition at Notre Dame, Saint Mary’s and other four-year accredited institutions. Faculty and staff are eligible for this tuition benefit after five years of service. 

Bright Horizons Back-Up Care

Provides short-term, back-up care for unexpected child or elder care needs, and an online provider directory for on-going family care solutions.

Employee Assistance Program

A comprehensive resource to assist faculty, staff and their dependents in dealing with a variety of personal and family challenges.
