ND Toastmasters club celebrates first year

Published: January 12, 2015

The Notre Dame Toastmasters Club is proud to be celebrating its first birthday.

The club is the local chapter of Toastmasters International, a non-profit educational organization with over 14,000 clubs in 122 countries. Toastmasters organizations help members become more confident leaders by recognizing that good leaders tend to be good communicators.

First formed in January of 2014, the Notre Dame club is now more than 25 members strong — and more are always welcome. The group meets every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. in the Grace Hall lower level training room.

Members practice both formal and impromptu speaking before other members and develop leadership skills by chairing meetings or taking on other roles. Members may choose a communication track, a leadership track, or both. Participants progress at their own pace through a guided curriculum, receiving constructive feedback from other members along the way.

Membership in the Notre Dame Toastmasters Club is open to all faculty and staff. Dues are $42.00 every six months.
