Staff: apply now for $1000 Fred Freeman scholarship

The Fred Freeman Staff Scholarship awards up to $1,000 in tuition assistance per semester to eligible Notre Dame staff pursuing a college degree, or other post-secondary education or certification. All full-time, non-exempt employees who are pursuing post-secondary education and who have worked for the University for three years* are encouraged to apply. Read full article

From the Notre Dame Wellness Center: limited school physical appointments available

The Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) has recently changed how school physicals are administered. Physicals must now be administered by an Indiana-licensed medical doctor (MD) or doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO).

Because Nurse Practitioners are no longer eligible, there are fewer providers now available to fully complete examinations. This change may cause delays in scheduling physicals at medical providers statewide. Read full article

IRS Form 1095-C will soon be mailed

If you are a 2015 Notre Dame health benefit plan participant:

Beginning early next week, Notre Dame faculty and staff who were enrolled in a University health plan during 2015 will be mailed a Form 1095-C.

This new form is an IRS requirement under the Affordable Care Act. Much like your W-2 or 1099 reports your income, Form 1095-C reports the health care coverage you had or were offered in 2015. Read full article

For the seventh year in a row, the University of Notre Dame has been named one of the Great Colleges to Work For by the Chronicle of Higher Education.

The Great Colleges program is the premier recognition program in higher education. The results, in The Chronicle’s annual report on The Academic Workplace, are based on a survey of more than 43,000 employees at 278 colleges and universities. The primary factor in determining whether an institution received recognition as a Great College to Work for was the employee feedback. Read full article
