Earlier this month, the University temporarily introduced and expanded a number of important benefits for full-time faculty, staff and graduate students at the recommendation of the Working Group on Schools and Child/Eldercare. We have continued the committee work by creating a campus hub for trusted connections and the exchange of helpful information around child and elder care resources as part of our plans to connect caregivers with care providers. Additionally, the Provost’s Office is creating a first-of-its-kind program to provide free virtual learning sessions for children of Notre Dame faculty, staff and graduate students.

Notre Dame Child/Elder Care Community Google Group
Today we would like to introduce the Notre Dame Child/Elder Care Community Google Group for faculty, staff and graduate students with an active Notre Dame email address. This Google Group was created to help members of our community exchange ideas and information on child and elder care resources and needs. For example, you can find information on drop-in virtual learning assistance, care centers with availability and support from a community of parents facing what you are.

If you would like to join, please click on the Notre Dame Child/Elder Care Community Google Group link and follow the instructions. We have included information about the terms of its use below.*

ND Supplemental Learning Programs
This program will provide free virtual learning sessions for children of Notre Dame faculty, staff and graduate students. It will last 12 weeks and offer a variety of evidence-based program options that have been vetted by our faculty in the Education, Schooling, and Society Program and the Robinson Community Learning Center. All programs will be led by Notre Dame tutors.

To gauge initial interest for program planning, please fill out this survey by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28 and submit a separate survey for each child who plans to participate this fall. Those who express interest will receive a follow-up email with the formal registration process.

Thank you for your continued extraordinary efforts to support our mission of teaching and scholarship during these times. Now more than ever, please take care of your well-being and that of your families.
