Athletic Tickets
Last Updated 11/2016
Applies to Faculty and Staff
Policy
The University provides eligible employees with the opportunity to purchase two season athletic tickets for football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and hockey games. Hockey and men’s and women’s basketball tickets are offered at approximately a 20% discount.
Eligibility
Eligible employees include the following:
- Active faculty members
- Regular full-time exempt and non-exempt staff members
- Retired faculty who retired prior to 8/19/96
- Retired faculty and staff members who have retired since 8/19/96 with at least 5 consecutive years of full-time service
- Surviving spouses of all categories listed above
*Eligible employees must be actively employed at the time of season ticket distribution.
Cost and Limitations
Due to limited seating in the hockey and basketball arenas, should either sport reach a point where demand exceeds capacity, the University will consider other options. These may include a seniority based system and/or split packages and would be utilized only after previous year season ticket holders are given the first right of renewal. Areas defined as “premium” by the ticket office are not eligible for a discount.
The University employee whose name is on the application must make the payment for season tickets. Employees do not receive a discount on individual game tickets. Spousal ID cards may not be used to purchase season tickets.
Ticket Holder Responsibilities
While the University recognizes season ticket holders may occasionally provide tickets to acquaintances, tickets are intended for personal or immediate family use. No resale of tickets is permitted on campus on game day. Contact the athletic ticket office for information regarding procedures for game day consignment sales.
Additional Sporting Event Tickets
In addition to the purchase of season tickets as mentioned above, employees may attend the other University sports that require tickets by presenting their valid University ID at the gate. Spousal ID cards may also be used for these events. Immediate family may accompany the employee or spouse. This policy excludes tournament games, is subject to change, and is not valid if capacity is reached.
Procedures
Football Ticket Applications
Season football applications are mailed in April of each year with a deadline for return of May 1. Football applications are mailed to addresses on file with Human Resources, so it is important that employees provide updated information on address changes to the Office of Human Resources. Only the University employee whose name is on the application may order or make payment for football season tickets.
Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, and Hockey Applications
Season Ticket applications for men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and hockey are mailed to current season ticket holders in advance of the appropriate season and must be returned by the deadline indicated on the application. As with football season ticket applications, payment will be accepted only from the employee whose name is on the season ticket application.
An e-mail is sent to all full-time employees regarding the process for purchasing new season tickets to various sports subject to availability. New season tickets may be ordered via phone, at the Joyce Center Ticket Office, or by mailing an application which may be found on the University Athletic Ticket web site at www.und.com during the appropriate time for each sport season.
