This workshop will provide you with the fundamentals and tools that will assist you in creating, or updating, strategic and effective documents. Participants will learn the fundamentals of how to create strategic and effective personal marketing tools, and submit one resume & cover letter for a review.

Interviewing 101

Preparation is everything when it comes to interviewing! In this workshop, participants will identify the fundamentals and tools of effective communication, and practice interview techniques to sharpen the skills needed to sell the most valuable asset you have – YOU!

Finding Your Purpose

Ever feel lost? Like you’re just going through the motions? Don’t know if you’re making a difference? You don’t have to make drastic changes to be satisfied with your job or life. You just have to find your purpose! This in-depth & interactive workshop will help attendees through practical, hands-on exercises to find their purpose in life that may be the basis for their personal & professional development plans.

Survival of the Kindest

Some researchers consider kindness to be the single most effective factor in well-being, instantly affecting mood, heart health, and even the perception of time. Participants will leave with strategies to cultivate compassion in their personal lives, in their work, and in their communities.

Using MBTI Type in Your Career Development Strategy

Date: Tues., Oct. 29
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Identifying and developing a strategy is key to a successful career development process. Participants will explore their Myers-Briggs Type to locate a variety of career areas & activities that fit their interests. Prerequisite: This workshop is designed to help individuals explore further the MBTI® framework after an initial feedback session on the MBTI®. Participants are encouraged to attend the introductory “Know Thyself: An Introduction to the Myers-Briggs® Type Indicator (MBTI)” workshop prior to registering for this workshop.

Managing My Career

This workshop focuses on the stages of Notre Dame’s Career Management Process. Participants will complete various assessments and activities that will assist in the identification of personal interests, professional aspirations and lifestyle needs.

Are you properly “fueled” for career success? The food we consume can literally change our thoughts. Our brains thrive on nutrient dense foods and we perform at a higher mental level when we fuel properly for success. During this interactive 2 ½ hour workshop, we will explore the complex and fascinating relationship between nutrients and brain function, examine the research on healthy lifestyle habits and career success, and learn practical skills to put a healthy-brain boosting diet into our daily routine.

Setting Your Compass

Who and what is important to you? Who do you want to be? How much are these present and guiding your life? Participants will learn how meaning and purpose impact their well-being, how awareness of personal values increases happiness and reduces stress and how reorienting their priorities can reenergize their lives.

StrengthsFinder: Identifying & Capitalizing on Your Talents

Time: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

One of the most important aspects of your professional development is being able to identify and capitalize on your top strengths in the workplace. Participants must complete the Clifton StrengthsFinder self-assessment and read about their top five talents and strengths prior to the workshop.
