Last Updated 04/03
Applies to Administrators, Faculty, and Staff

Policy

The University offers the option to purchase Long-Term Care Insurance which pays benefits when a covered member loses the ability to perform at least two “Activities of Daily Living” (ADL’s). The plan offers various options for level and duration of benefits, and premiums are based upon the plan and the member’s age at the time of enrollment. Premiums are paid entirely by the member.

Eligibility

Long-Term Care Insurance is available to:

  • Full-time and part-time administrators, faculty, and staff members
  • Their family members (including spouses, parents, parents-in-law, grandparents, and grandparents-in-law between the ages of 18 and 84)
  • Retirees

Application may be made at any time during the year and the provider determines the applicant’s eligibility in the plan based upon a medical questionnaire. During some University Annual Open Enrollment periods, the provider may waive this requirement for the employee.

Application packets and additional information may be obtained from the Office of Human Resources, 2nd floor Grace Hall. Information is also available at:
