Effective November 1, the management of Notre Dame’s COBRA administration has transitioned from Meritain to Infinisource.
Current COBRA participants and those in their election period have already been informed of this transition. Faculty, staff and their dependents who participate in a medical plan, dental plan, vision plan, flexible spending account or are eligible to use the Notre Dame Wellness Center and have a future occurrence of a “qualifying event” may look forward to receiving information from Infinisource at that time.
What is COBRA? The Federal Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) gives employees and their qualified beneficiaries the opportunity to continue benefit coverage under an employer’s medical plans, dental plans, vision plan, and flexible spending accounts when a “qualifying event” (such as separation of employment, death, divorce, etc.) would normally result in the loss of eligibility.
Why the Change? The University has elected to change program administrators as part of its commitment to providing quality benefits and meeting compliance obligations while responsibly managing costs. Infinisource has over 25 years of experience and expertise in COBRA compliance and administration.
