Mandatory Employee Contributions (Faculty & Exempt Staff):
About Mandatory Contributions
Regular faculty and exempt staff are eligible to participate in the 403(b) Plan upon meeting the one-year eligibility period of employment. Upon attaining eligibility, the University contributes 10% of your regular salary to the plan, and you are required to contribute a Mandatory Employee Contribution of 5% of your regular salary to the plan. How to enroll
Each faculty or staff member, upon attaining eligibility, will be automatically contacted by an HR benefits specialist regarding mandatory contributions enrollment.

About Voluntary Contributions
A voluntary contribution is any amount contributed to the 403(b) Retirement Plan above what is mandatory for faculty and exempt staff. All faculty and staff, whether exempt, non-exempt or temporary, may make voluntary contributions beginning at the time of hire or anytime thereafter. More about voluntary contributions.
How to enroll
Faculty and staff who make (or wish to make) voluntary contributions to the University of Notre Dame 403(b) Retirement Plan personally manage their voluntary contributions online.
To begin, change or cancel your voluntary contributions:
