Participants pay a $250 deductible for prescription drugs for both retail and mail order services. After the deductible, the plan pays 80% if the prescription is obtained from a network pharmacy, 70% if the prescription is obtained from a non-network pharmacy, and 80% if you use mail order service. The maximum out-of-pocket limit for prescription drugs is $2500 for an individual in a calendar year.
The prescription drug program provides retail and home delivery services. Under the retail feature, you can visit any pharmacy in the Anthem Prescription Management (APM) network of pharmacies. Present your Anthem ID card at your local pharmacy and pay your portion of the total cost for your prescription. If you choose to use a pharmacy that is not in the APM network, then you will have to pay the entire cost of the medication and file a claim to APM for reimbursement.
A complete list of APM network pharmacies can be obtained by calling Anthem Customer Service. Local pharmacies include CVS, Kmart, Kroger, Medical Arts, Meijer, Merrill, Wal-Mart, and Walgreens. You also can order your existing maintenance medications through the Anthem Rx Direct Mail pharmacy. Ordering maintenance medications through the mail is a safe and convenient way to eliminate monthly trips to the pharmacy. Your doctor can write your prescriptions for up to a 90-day supply with 3 refills. Your prescription then can be ordered through Precision Rx Direct Mail Service and delivered directly to your home or anywhere in the United States .
At Precision Rx Direct Mail Service, your prescription orders are filled by a registered pharmacist who will dispense federally approved, generic equivalent medications for brand-name medications, unless you or your physician specifies otherwise. This potentially will save you money. If a generic substitution is not desired, then you or your doctor must handwrite on the mail-in prescription “Dispense as Written” or “DAW.”
