Dependent Loses Eligibility

As long as a dependent remains eligible, children will be covered through the end of the month in which they turn age 19. If a full-time student (12 credit hours undergraduate and 9 credit hours graduate level) and unmarried a dependent remains eligible until age 25. Coverage ends at the end of the month in which they lose eligibility. The dependent will be offered an opportunity to continue their coverage through COBRA for up to 18 months as long as Human Resources is notified within 31 days of the dependent losing their eligibility for coverage (e.g. graduation, age, taking a semester off).

Medical/Prescription Drugs, Dental & Vision

If you are already enrolled in a University medical, dental, and/or vision plan, you need to remove your ineligible dependent(s) from coverage.

Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

You may want to reconsider your participation in the Health Care Flexible Spending Account by changing your contribution amount. You may want to decrease your contribution due to your ineligible dependents expenses no longer qualifying for reimbursement.
