Increased Educational Benefits

The University of Notre Dame recognizes the importance of continuing education and professional development. Effective July 1, 2016, the University is making the following enhancements to:

  • the Non-Notre Dame Tuition Reimbursement Benefit, and
  • the Notre Dame Educational Benefit.

Non-Notre Dame Tuition Reimbursement Benefit

Eligibility

The benefit is available to regular full-time exempt and non-exempt staff.

About the Benefit

The Non-Notre Dame Tuition Reimbursement benefit assists staff in achieving their educational and career goals by providing tuition reimbursement for post-secondary education or skills training and certification.

What’s New

  • Tuition Reimbursement Increase. The maximum reimbursement for tuition paid to an accredited institution will increase from $1,500 to $3,000 per benefit year.
  • Job-Related Certification, Skills or Trade Training. The maximum reimbursement will increase from $750 to $1,000 per benefit year.
  • Doctoral Work Now Covered. The benefit will now pay for work associated with obtaining a doctoral degree.

Applying for the Benefit

To apply, a completed Non-Notre Dame Tuition Reimbursement Form (PDF) must be submitted to Human Resources.

Notre Dame Educational Benefit

About the Benefit

The Notre Dame Educational Benefit offers 90% tuition remission for one Notre Dame undergraduate course up to three credits or 100% tuition remission for one tuition remission for one Notre Dame graduate-level course up to three credits per semester.

Eligibility

The benefit is available to regular full-time faculty, staff, post-doctoral research associates, interns, visiting faculty, and their spouses as well as retired faculty, staff and their spouses.

What’s New

  • Doctoral Work Now Covered. The benefit will now pay for work associated with obtaining a doctoral degree.

Applying for the Benefit

To apply, a completed Application for Employee or Employee Spouse Education Benefit (PDF) must be submitted to Human Resources.
